Society Package Details
A warm welcome to Kingsdown Golf Club.
Many Societies play the Course every year, and we have drawn up these Guidance Notes to ensure that visiting players know the customs and conventions that are observed by our own members, and which go to ensure that all players enjoy their game at Kingsdown Golf Club.
Booking the Day
Any organised group of 12 or more golfers is treated as a Society, and may only play if a Society booking has been confirmed in writing. Society bookings are not accepted at weekends, or on Bank Holidays.
Green Fees
The 2007 green fee is £36 per day.
Payment
Fees should either be paid before play commences, or by invoice, if prior arrangements have been agreed. Should your party include any Kingsdown members, they will not be charged for their golf. However, please note that they are not entitled to sign in any of your other players as their guest.
Tee Reservations
After discussion with the Society organiser, the Secretary will reserve a tee to allow all Society members to get away smoothly. Starting times MUST be observed.
Slow Play
We prefer you to play Stableford to ensure that all members get round the course in good time. If a 3-ball takes more than 3 ½ hours for a round, they will be delaying other players. Please note that a Texas Scramble is not permitted.
Care of the Course
Kingsdown takes great pride in the condition of the course, which gives pleasure to visitors and members alike. It is absolutely essential that societies treat the course with respect, particularly as regards:
Replace Divots – Rake Bunkers – Repair Pitchmarks
Golf Etiquette
The Club asks visitors to observe strictly the etiquette of golf, not only as regards fellow society members, but also for the sake of Kingsdown members playing nearby.
Dress on the Course
All players are asked to observe the Kingsdown Golf Club dress code.
Footpaths
Kingsdown lies on a common owned by the Club. Across the common are a number of public footpaths. Should there be any altercation with walkers or riders on the Down, would the player concerned please notify the Secretary of the circumstances and particularly the spot where the argument took place.
